This website has a lot of great historic minutes that will help students learn about a comprehensive Canadian history. In particular, a new heritage minute has been added that shares and celebrates the life of Oscar Peterson who was known as Canada’s most honoured musicians and jazz pianists.

A great resource and link created by Parents for Diversity to support work around ensuring Black History is part of the curriculum. This Periodic Table lists authors, human rights activists, entrepreneurs, athletes and artists who continue to inspire and have made a difference. It also shows the power of collaborating with the teacher and school teacher-librarian on various curriculum subjects. This website is powerful because it can help new teachers get ideas of how to approach various projects and lessons for various subject areas with a particular focus on literacy education.

This is a website that has been made to support the movement of racial equity for individual and groups. There are many resources and tools offered throughout the website that connect to learning the terminology of racial justice, teaching tips and lesson ideas in a cross curricular way. It is a great resource for teachers’ professional development as well as using the materials to bring into their classrooms in a upper elementary to highschool level.
