The goal of the Anishinaabemodaa initiative is to bring Anishinaabemowin back into the homes of the Anishinaabe people. One way of achieving this goal is to build Anishinaabemowin knowledge and fluency among children ages 0-6. This site offers language learning support and educational resources to child care centres, community partners, families, and learners so they can incorporate Anishinaabemowin into their programming and daily routines. The aim is to engage parents, families, and anyone interested in learning Anishinaabemowin with their family and using language in their homes.

Heritage Minutes are dramatic interpretations of pivotal events in Canada’s history. These 60-second vignettes commemorate notable Canadians, achievements in innovation, and instances of perseverance and bravery. They are intended to entertain, educate and encourage further research into our nation’s past. Classroom resources, including background information for each Minute and select lesson plans can be found at www.historicacanada.ca. Heritage Minutes were created by The CRB Foundation in 1991 and re-launched by Historica Canada in 2012. After more than two decades on air and online, Heritage Minutes are treasured by Canadians young and old. They are “A Part of Our Heritage.”

This resource provides an overview of balanced literacy in the elementary grades. It was developed by university-based and school-based literacy experts, working together to put what is known about best practice into a form that we hope you will find both effective and practical.
The MKN uses evidence-informed practices to improve mathematics education. The three guiding principles: addressing educator-identified needs for improved student learning, changing attitudes toward mathematics and fostering inclusion. The 4 contributing communities of practice include Math Leadership, Critical Transitions, Indigenous Knowledge, and Computational Thinking. Supported by many Ontario school boards, universities, and education organizations, the MKN is a hub for resources that you can use in your classroom, and as a tool to expand your knowledge of mathematics education to further develop your professional practice.
